Beta should be soon. I got it bookmarked on Steam. Their Facebook and Instagram pages are up.

A medieval game with "basic" combat? No thanks. What's next, Ken Follett's Peasants of the Earth?

I'm looking forward to this, Kingdom Come Deliverance from the Lords perspective.

Interesting to watch. Like Stronghold except you build a village instead of a castle? That combat did look pretty bad.

I've watched a couple follow up videos showing some diplomacy with neighboring lords, trade and other economics. Looks a lot more in depth than initially I thought it was going to be. I honestly thought Banished meets Stronghold aka Life is Feudal Forest Village but it looks like its a lot more. I really enjoyed Dawn of Man, probably the best sim builder since Tropico/Stronghold so I definitely still enjoy this genre so will probably get this on release.

Demo goes live today at 6pm GMT so I guess somewhere around noon my time. Very exciting. Raptor already has a copy and is showing it off on YouTube. Anxious to see how my rig will push it.
***correction***
It's online now! I'll put updates on this same post.
****
I've only played it a few minutes but it runs beautifully on my old rig so far. VERY reminiscent of Banished with the fine details of keeping everyone from starving to death. The building animation is phenomenal and you can get on ground level amd walk around while your lands are being developed. So far I'm loving it, the demo at least.

I am sitting here with the stupidest smile on my face. This is sooooo relaxing. The music, the sounds, watching everyone run around being busy. You can even click a button and guide your own avatar down the streets for a tour. Yay!

It is very chill!
Is there not a way to save in the demo? It's greyed out...

I'm stuck on comforts and conveniences... I can't figure out how to upgrade my burg plots to level 2. It looks like I need to meet some requirements, but the icons are really confusing, and I can't figure out how to meet clothing and entertainment. I built a tavern for entertainment but I don't seem to have a way to get drinks there. I need two different types of clothing (among cloth, leather, and yarn), but I don't seem to have a way to generate those. Have you made it passed this, Tig? imgur.com/gallery/0mXLTrG

No I'm stuck there too. I'm following Raptor as he plays it on YouTube and last I saw he went bug with houses and farming but hadn't upgraded the homes yet.
And there's no saving in the demo for now.
I can't believe just one guy is making all this.

From the reddit thread, sounds like that quest is several steps away. Start making more houses for people to do all the intermediary steps.

I tried this out last night, too. It's amazing!
Got to the same part where you guys are at. Basically, you need to start farming for the flax to make the linens with. Same with grain for alcohol, that can then be used in the tavern. Kind of skips over all that as it leads you by the hand up to that point. Would make more sense if they did a quest to make say a grain farm, then the workshops to make the alcohol, and then finally the tavern.
Wasn't able to finish that quest yet, though, as I did everything but upgrade the three houses to level 2.
Also upgraded my village to a medium, which made me need to start paying taxes to the king. The bad part is that even though the manor and tax office, etc. are all shown, apparently you can't build those yet? At least I couldn't. Supposed to start with a gate house, but I can't place it anywhere. And you need all those to collect taxes.
Grew my village quite a bit trying to meet all this, and so also built a trader to sell off all the extra materials I was starting to hoard. Earned me some decent money, which let me build some chicken coops (for eggs) and goats (milk) for the houses. Which lead to more sales. Also a mine and the workshops to make ingots and tools, which allowed me to make vegetable gardens.
Built an animal trader, but it wasn't buying any sheep. Not sure if I was missing something or if it isn't working correctly yet. Several things like that in the game. The negatives of being a work in progress...
Still, I see the potential in this for being a really great game. Looking forward to updates and playing it more in the future. Hopefully with a save game - that sucks right now, especially when I'm hit or miss with gaming. Did quite a bit last night and then had to quit, and it all goes "poof!"

I really hope he gets picked up by a publisher so he can get some help. This whole thing reminds me of Dimmi Azu and Goblinz with City States. He had a great game all laid out then poof. Greg seems like a much more level guy, and he probably has less ties to the Russian mafia than Dimmi. Poor guy.
