I was looking for a "What's Playing thread" and could not find a recent one. Decided we might as well have one, same as for movies and books. As you may recall, I frequent boardgamegeek.com and their sister-site videogamegeek.com. So, I decided to do my 3rd Videogame Challenge, having failed the previous two. boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/265731/item/7417200#item7417200So far, I have finished these games: Alan Wake's American Nightmare, which was a disappointment. I really dug the original, but this one was very short and very lazy. It took me around 3½ hours to finish. You play the same area three times, each time doing the same things, though certain NPC's help you with some of the load. Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror, which was interesting enough. I played the first one last year (I think). Old-school point and click adventure with a decent story. Mainly played it because it was on a challenge for the community to play games ranked 401-500 in 2020. The Council, which is an AWESOME game. Took 17 hours including redoing bits of the story. I kept playing and playing, being drawn into the story, the characters and the suspense. This is a game I will play again. Unfortunately there is no option to skip bits, unless you are replaying chapters, so might wait a bit. There is of course some repetition in the story, but also different paths to take and different skills to pick. In the end I "lost", so must revenge that ending soon. Currently I am playing a number of games: SpaceChem, which is a cool puzzle game that is relaxing in an odd way and sometimes extremely annoying. Tropico 6, which is more of the same, except now on different islands at the same time. I love the premise of the game and will probably keep buying them, though never at full price. Just finished the 1st scenario of the campaign. Valhalla Hills, which is in the mold of the Settlers. I am having a hard time figuring out how to win the game. It seems to be about getting through islands, reaching the portal and moving one, getting more an more honour for your vikings. Not sure I like it. Already seems very repetitive. I am still looking for games to add to my list, so let me know what you are playing.

I am playing like 20 games at once, because nothing seems to keep my attention. Already completed everything I love, so only stragglers now. Playing this weird RPG called Pathologic from early 2000s. Trying out alpha 18 version of 7 Days to Die. Started playing the Witcher series again, with Witcher 1. Bunch of other stuff. When is Cyberpunk 2077 coming out, dammit?

When is Cyberpunk 2077 coming out, dammit? April 15th. I'd make a sticky for "what are you playing" but that's basically what the entire forum is. I'm loving Ghost Recon Wildlands on PC, even moreso than I did on PS4. I've been playing it so much that I've neglected to keep going with Greedfall. I'll pick it back up soon. Hell Let Loose, holy cow what an amazing multiplayer experience. WWII combat shooter but limited ammo, limited guns, no bunny hopping, one-shot kills, working together is a must. It's still in beta but the game is fully playable with new updates almost daily. Really loving it, moreso than Red Orchestra or Arma. They also have the balance figured out for older weapons and game pacing, something Battlefield V lost. Division 2 with a friend still although I think we've played it to death at this point. I tried to go back through Homeworld so I can play Homeworld 2. The redigitized version on Steam is amazing but I played that game soooo much in the 90s that I think I just burned out on it. Same with the Total War series. Sad face.

My brother visited for Thanksgiving in November and then again for Christmas, and back at Thanksgiving he bought a couple of boardgames. Elysium is about Greek Mythology, and Heroes of Normandie which is a WW2 game (they also have a video game on Steam). We were planning on playing them at Christmas, and just got Normandie set up and played a little bit, but then everyone got a nasty cold that's going around and so we never played any more. For video games I've been playing some Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare, and trying out a few new games I've picked up with the free games at Epic and such. Tried out Kingdom New Lands, Faster Than Light, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, and Rebel Galaxy. The first two were okay, but hit parts where I couldn't get past and got frustrated and decided to move on. Really like Shadow Tactics, but again hit a point where I couldn't get past later in the game and decided to take a break. Really, really enjoying Rebel Galaxy now. Very fun space game where you follow a storyline but can be good or evil or a mix in-between. There's a main storyline and tons of side quests. You just fly around from station to station, point to point, exploring, fighting, mining, etc. Earn money to upgrade your ship or components on it. The music in it is very good, too. Not your regular gaming music. It's been pretty tough as I've been tired and short fused being sick for the past couple of weeks. Really bad sinus infection and chest congestion. Hard to concentrate or enjoy much of anything. Been sleeping a lot - or at least trying to. Haven't read any books since before Christmas because of it. Whatever this cold thing is seems to last three weeks, so I should be nearing the end of it thankfully. Just hope I don't get it again! Oh, and I've been watching some SC streams as usual, too. Just won a mining ship last week in a giveaway. $150 value. Been wanting to add one to my fleet to expand my possible gameplay and give me another good way of making money in game.

So Mako has a bad respiratory infection, and Tig and I are just reading / have been reading The Stand.

I'd make a sticky for "what are you playing" but that's basically what the entire forum is. Fair point, though I might argue that this could be for more frequent updates on games that do not warrant their own thread. Besides, most are about upcoming games... but you are the boss.

Thanks, guys. I had a bad case of bronchitis about 15 years ago and ever since anything sinus related can do a number on me. Tends to get bad and tough to get rid of. I'm starting to feel a little better the past couple of days and seem to be past the worst of it, though. Just completely drained. So Mako has a bad respiratory infection, and Tig and I are just reading / have been reading The Stand. I haven't read The Stand, but I think I can guess being sick isn't good? Makes a note not to read The Stand when I'm not feeling well.

... but I think I can guess being sick isn't good? You could kinda say that... There might or might not be a massive epidemic of superflu that might or might not kill everyone, and possibly have something to do with Satan. Just kidding though, get well!

Started playing Hacknet on Tuesday and finished Wednesday. Only 5½ hours, but well worth it.

I finished Epistory in 7 hours. A nice story of exploration in the typing genre with a decent story. I enjoyed it, though it maybe ran a bit long.
Then I picked up Hero of the Kingdom 3 which greatly improved on the previous games in the series. Today I completed Art of Murder: FBI Confidential, nothing to write home about.

I don't know how you do it. These days, it's almost impossible for me to get into any game I cannot play for 50 hours at least. I just cannot invest the time to learn UI, controls, lore, setting, if I can't spend a bunch of time on it.

Most of these are fairly simple and they fit my current level of attention. I do plan on restarting Kingdom Come Deliverance this year though.

Yeah I will too when I build my new rig.
I just finished Ghost Recon Wildlands on PC. 89 hours but that includes probably 8 hours of online play with a friend on a different character and several dozen hours just running around picking up really cool weapons and stuffs. I think the story probably clocks in around 30 hours or so overall. Really great quality game except for your friendly AI which is pretty brain dead at times. When it does run smooth, oh baby it runs smooth. Easily my favorite Tom Clancy game outside of Rogue Spear in 99. I put a review up over a year ago so I won't repeat myself here but damn...what a game.
