You know, Taibi, in the first update video on Kickstarter, they walked through some medieval dungeons in Czech Republic that they are gonna use to design the in-game ones, to be as authentic as possible. I think you might be able to convince your professors that playing this game is archaeological research, if they are gonna make it that authentic.

Excellent, I hadn't noticed that. We do have electives at some point, medieval Czech dungeons could be just the thing...

"Some people are concerned about our maps size and seem to think that 9 sq. km. is not enough. Please trust us that it is. Our map is bigger than the one in Read Dead Redemption. The population/point-of-interest density is going to be on par with RDR. We want the world to look natural.
Also please mind that both Act II and Act III will each come with their own map, although they will be a bit smaller the length of designed gameplay should be on par with Act I"
Thank goodness they addressed this. Release date it looks like got pushed though, they keep adding and in turn pushing. For good or bad who will know...

Yeah, it's cool stuff. I love how you can pimp your character out realistically with a whole bunch of layers. I always loved that Crusader Knight look with a combination of plate and chain armor and then a white tabard over it, should probably be able to do it in this game. Supposedly, their character model customization tool is so good, Chris Roberts is gonna use it for Star Citizen.
Btw, both Kingdom Come and Star Citizen are using CryEngine, and I don't know if you guys have been following this, but supposedly, Crytek, the company making CryEngine is in serious trouble. They are denying it for now, but multiple sources including inside the company suggest that they might be nearing bankruptcy. They got their start with the original Far Cry game, which I reviewed on the old forum, and which was really good, but since then, they haven't been doing that well. They lost the Far Cry brand to Ubisoft I think, who used a different studio to make Far Cry 2 and 3, the Crysis brand to replace hasn't really panned out, and they've been trying various other things, like free to play stuff and MOBA games. Many of the employees are pissed because they are getting late paychecks, while the two founders are still driving to work in Ferraris. Anyways, hope this doesn't adversely affect Kingdom Come

OK if you guys think about pledging be sure you click around on their website before doing so. It's very laggy and while I was in the middle of setting up my account everything crashed. I hadn't entered my credit card yet but I'm afraid the profile and e-mail address I wanted to use is probably invalid now because the confirmation they sent got bugged when redirecting to their web site. Just saying proceed with caution. I think they need to kill the Flash banner on the page and just stick with stock HTML. *** Woohoo! I'm officially a backer!

Yeah, flash... I dunno if it's my ancient computer, or the fact that I use Firefox or what, but lately, the Internet has been so annoyingly slow for me. Pretty much every website I go to, there is this pause while it loads, where on the bottom it says "loading blah blah script" over and over as it loads all manner of crap from google and other tracking/marketing companies as well as Flash stuff. Makes me really miss the old days where most webpages just had plain text and a few images.

That way on my laptop lately, too. I use Chrome (which is supposed to be the fastest browser), and with the adblocking add-ons. Still loads crazy slow more and more. My mom's PC is slow like that as well, and is only 2 yrs or so old. On my laptop I've even had problems with simple pages and know usually load quickly timing out. Sometimes have to open things two or three times to get it to work.
My new PC is like lightning in comparison. Wondering how long that will last. Still not totally sure why the difference, though. I've got the same setup on all of them: Chrome, the adblockers, anti-spyware, same anti-virus, etc.

Chrome's claim to be the fastest is pure BS. It's laggy on my PC, my Mac and my Droid phone. I just keep it around so I can search Google out of the task bar, have my favs where I want them, and access my gmail directly. Plus what changes I make on a browser on one device carries over to all the others. Good apps to. Just so slow.

Yeah, I'm loving that on my new PC since I'm mostly just on that one at night. Usually I'm on my laptop off and on during the day surfing when I can. Just save a bookmark to check out more later and then can open it on my desktop. Though I think Firefox just added the same feature on their latest build, too.
When I first switched to Chrome it was faster, but has sure slowed down since then. The little I've used IE and Firefox on my laptop they still are very slow, too. Trying a good anti-virus/anti-spyware scan, and may need to do a little more research as to what may be causing it.

OK I've tried to be a community member after paying into their kickstarter but holy crap I've never seen a bigger collection of douches in my life. These guys are worse than the self-proclaimed nautical historians that would gather at the old Sea Dogs forums or when Pirates of the Burning Sea got started. "I'm a professional historian...you're doing it all wrong." Holy @#$% what a bunch of idiots.
