Big CapCom sale on Steam. Noticed they are selling the first 4 Sniper Elite games for $19.41 as a bundle. I already have the 4th one, might grab some of the others.

I picked up the Halo Master Chief Collection. Played a little bit of a couple of them on Xbox years ago, and after watching some of the TV series on Paramount+ recently figured I'd grab it and play through it on PC.
That'll probably be it for me now unless I find something I really want to get. I've got a huge backlog of games to play, and been busy lately so not much gaming time.

I grabbed a few games, my inner hoarder cannot let a seasonal sale go by without adding to my huge backlog, but at least they are mostly very cheap.
Grabbed E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy for $3, it's hard to explain what this game is, it's basically some French modders making some weird shooter/simulation game in Source engine that some people swear by.
Also grabbed a couple of roguelikes for $3 each: Tales of Maj'Eyal and The Darkest Dungeon, at these prices worth a try, since they have very high ratings everywhere.
The one game I grabbed that cost actual money is God of War, at 50% off, for $25. Also very highly rated, I've been wanting to get it for a while, and I have some time off coming up in a month or so, so this might be a good open worlder to mess around with then. Also, Sony has been nice recently with porting some good games over to PC (God of War, Ghost of Tsushima in May), so I want to give them money to keep doing it. As you all know, I hate console exclusivity.
Was considering Bannerlord at $30, and it's funny, when I was looking at it on Steam, it showed me my Steam friends' reviews, and you had a positive one from Tig and a negative one from Pete. I do want to get it at some point, but the reviews were from 2020-2021, have they added more to the meta-game? Are there mods around now?

I've got Darkest Dungeon. Think I grabbed it free on Epic awhile back. It's good, but a tough one like Battle Brothers where you can easily go through a bunch of men as you keep trying to build them up. Played it a short while until I got stuck and would need to start over, but ended up moving on to other games instead. You might enjoy it more than me. At least until I could get the hang of it. haha
As for Bannerlord, they've been quietly fixing the game up and improving it. It's been playable since it came out, but they've definitely been flushing out the systems and what wasn't done when it first was released. There are mods out there, but until it reaches a more "finished" state where there aren't updates every few months that require mods to be updated, it isn't anywhere near like what Warband was like with mods. I mean, there are a lot of mods, just everything is still in a constant flux with things being broken, fixed and improved. I play it every so often when I get tired of other games and there's been some updates to check it out, but haven't really played mods yet.

Yeah, it took me a while to get used to Battle Brothers, put it down a few times at first (it wasn't even the difficulty per se that turned me off at first, it was having to look for gold/contracts or your band would disband, i hate those kinds of time limit pressures). But once I did, boy, I have a ridiculous number of hours in it now, and it's one of my favorite games. So hoping the same will happen with Darkest Dungeon, I love the Gothic look of the art style.
Yeah, with Bannerlord, my biggest worry is that I will love the combat (like I did with Warband), but then after a few initial fun hours, it will turn into some endless slog of castle sieges and pointless meta-game. So hoping either the company or the modders add more depth to the strategic layer, and do away with castle sieges. Nothing wrong with one or two here and there, but when it's your bread and butter gameplay, z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z....

Yeah, that is kind of the problem with Bannerlord. Much like Warband, it gets a bit repetitious with the sieges and battles, and if you are good enough to start winning lots of territory the enemies all start ganging up on you all at the same time so that you are being attacked from every direction. The worst part is the AI is dumb as hell and will either fight when vastly outnumbered so lose constantly, or if they have numbers sit with their thumbs up their butts and do nothing. Or almost have a siege won only to break off to fight some small army laying siege to a castle on the other side of the map that probably wouldn't win anyways. So you end up having to do much of the heavy work yourself.
They've added the marriage/children/family gameplay, and some other stuff, but I'd love to see a lot more diplomacy and micromanagement and roleplay type stuff added to really flush it out. So you can give more orders to those who serve you, or use alliances and such better than what they have already. Right now the diplomacy is very generic.

EA sale at Steam. Star Wars titles, Battlefield, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age all on sale. Very nice. Why the F is Dead Space reboot normally $60?
