This game is gorgeous. I'm having trouble finding stuff to test other than minor graphic glitches because there's nothing to do, but holy cow there's a medieval village in my computer! The grass sways, shadows move, day/night cycle, it's on par with Skyrim and it's not even pushing my rig.

I am downloading as I write. They said there would even be a quest in it...

There is a quest to engage in an archery competition. There are no quest markers so let me know if you get stuck.
There's been an update but I don't really notice much changes. It's easy to see a lot is missing but graphically it's a triumph. Any other game of this detail would have melted my gfx card by now.

The mail said something about an alchemist quest, but I misread that.

Nothing yet. I haven't played since last update. It's really not much more than just a graphics simulator for now.

All I'm gonna say is with the latest alpha update... THIS GAME IS GONNA BE AMAZEBALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ran it with a FPS counter. Everything looks almost photorealistic and my FPS never dropped below 25. It usually hovered around 50-60. Textures that say "touch me", fluid animation, tiny details getting tinier and more detailier... just wonderful. Archery is still very hard and clunky and there's no combat yet but overall it's just brilliant.

Great to hear. Some years ago, Dan Vavra, the lead guy on Kingdom Come, wrote up an article on all the things he hates about Skyrim. It's an interesting and funny read (translated from Czech, so a little off in places): 38072aaea0ce8d3ccc2c61f3c87c2458004e43ed.googledrive.com/host/0B3PO89nVSeC4YnF6eHktZlNReTg/100+%20reasons%20why%20Dan%20V%C3%A1vra%20doesn%27t%20fall%20in%20love%20with%20TES%20V-%20Skyrim.htmlOne of the things he hated were the shortcomings in graphics, so it's nice to hear that they are indeed addressing that and trying to improve. I hope this will carry over to the gameplay side as well. As far as archery, is it hard and clunky in an early unpolished way, or in a realistic, hard to learn and master way? I remember when I first started playing Operation Flashpoint, the combat (designed by KCD's combat designer) seemed hard and clunky too, because unlike most shooters of that era, you couldn't just use the gun an extension of your body and instantaneously fire at the mouse cursor. Instead it felt like it was coming around to the cursor with a delay and was pretty inaccurate in that mode (shoot from the hip), and had to be raised to the sights to be effective beyond very short range. While this felt clunky at first, it actually approximated real life gunplay much better than the precise gamey systems of the other shooters, and once you got used to it, it was hard to go back. So I am wondering if the systems in KCD will be the same way.

It's both. I think it just needs polish but every time I nock an arrow I have to start all over. The "center" for sighting the bow isn't along the limb but out and away in dead space. I hope they adjust it.

While we all want games like this out ASAP, I think we also can all agree that delaying a game to improve it before release is kind of refreshing. Thank goodness they raised more money than expected and can do this instead of rushing it.
